Dog Dye-Jobs are Growing in Popularity

While actually owning a panda bear as a pet is probably not smart nor possible, clearly people love the idea. That’s probably because these wild creatures are incredibly adorable. According to KMOV.com, Allen Hanauer, a trainer and groomer, is experiencing a boom in his business of dying dogs and one popular request is the panda look.

Dog Dye

While pictures of dogs dyed to be almost identical to pandas has been popular in China for some time, this trend is now making its way to the states. Hanauer explains that he’s getting a lot more requests for coloring jobs of all kinds than he used to.(dog walking services nyc)

For example, Paul Skermetta’s white poodle, Coco, is one such U.S. dog that sometimes changes skins, so to speak. Though he has yet to transform into a panda, he has been a punk rocker with a blue mohawk, a polka-dotted pup for a parade and an orange pumpkin with black mohawk for Halloween.

Chicken, the maltipoo, another client of Hanauer’s, was transformed in four hours from dog to panda. Hanauer used animal-friendly dye, which has to set for hours.

While Hanauer insists the dogs love the attention that comes with their dye-jobs, panda or not, some people are not fond of the idea. But with lots of celebrities walking around with dyed pooches, this trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere!
