About a week ago in Portland, Connecticut, one rescue dog did an amazing thing. He saved the life of his human sister, Harper, a 9-week old baby. The Brousseaus adopted Duke from a shelter six years ago. Of course, they couldn’t have anticipated Duke’s amazing deed, but they’re sure glad they have him.

According to WFSB.com, the Brousseaus were asleep like they would be on any normal night and Duke jumped into the bed. He was shaking uncontrollably, which woke the couple up. This was extremely strange behavior from the dog who, according to Jenna Brousseau, is very obedient.

The Brousseaus knew something was wrong and they immediately checked their daughter’s bedroom to find that she wasn’t breathing. Jenna told WFSB.com, “My husband called 911 and the ambulance came here and it was because of our Dukey dog, who alerted us.”

After the paramedics revived Harper, she was taken to the hospital. Doctor’s aren’t sure what caused her to stop breathing but she is now doing well.(dog walking services nyc)

What a great story! The Brousseaus wanted to share their experience to encourage others to adopt from shelters. Watch the whole news video on WFSBTV.
