Hoboken Comedy Festival – Supporting Liberty Humane Society
Time: 8:00 PM
Support a great cause and have some laughs at the Hoboken Comedy Festival this week. The festival will donate $1 per ticket sold as well as other donations to the Liberty Humane Society, a small facility operating out of a converted garage in Jersey City. The society provides housing, care, basic medical care and adoption services to the homeless animals of Jersey City and is 100% dedicated to finding their homeless pets the best possible forever homes. In order to continue their good work, the Liberty Humane Society need to expand their premises to include an on-site clinic, training facilities, additional housing and public spaces. Animal Care & Control of NYC’s Adoptoberfest!
Time: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Yup, it’s Adoptoberfest! Get it?! The festivities kick off at Brooklyn Brewery this Saturday with the AC&C’s Mobile Adoption Center and reduced adoption fees. These reduced fees apply to both cats and dogs that are up for adoption at the Mobile Adoption Center, as well as those furry friends at AC&C’s Brooklyn Care Center at 2336 Linden Boulevard. ASPCA’s Cat and Dog Adoption Day

This week’s ASPCA Cat and Dog Adoption event is being hosted by Eight of Swords Tattoo Parlor in Brooklyn. Come and adopt a new family member from the ASPCA mobile van! The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals mobile van will be there with a bunch of dogs and cats that are in need of a loving family to be their forever home. Pets Alive’s 3rd Annual Tail Wagger Dog Walk

This month sees the 3rd annual Tail Wagger dog walk taking place in Thomas Bull Memorial Park. It’s sure to be a day full of fun, pups and family bonding. This event supports all of animals at Pets Alive no-kill animal sanctuary in Middletown, New York. Registration starts at 10am and the walk begins at 11am. Animal Haven/ Second Chance Rescue’s INSPIRED 5 Benefit Concert
Time: 7:00 PM
The Laurie Beechman Theater in New York will be hosting a fantastic benefit concert to support Animal Haven and Second Chance Rescue. The show features some of New York’s finest musical theatre talents, performing the work of writers who have inspired their own work. The INSPIRED 5 benefit is a casual and intimate event that hopes to spread the word about the 2.7 million adoptable animals that are euthanized in the U.S each year.
Animal Haven is an NYC-based non-profit organization that finds homes for abandoned dogs and cats throughout the Tri-State area with a big focus on behaviour intervention to improve the animals’ chances of adoption. They operate from a shelter in Manhattan and you can find out more about them at www.AnimalHavenShelter.org
Second Chance Rescue believes that every animal deserves to be loved and cares for. They rescue and rehome dogs and cats from the streets of New York as well as dogs on “death row” at municipal shelters. New Rochelle Humane Society’s 6th Annual Hounds on the Sound Dog Walk & Festival

Head to Glen Island Park on Sunday, October 19th to take part in the Hounds on the Sound Dog Walk & Festival. There’s a 1.5 mile walk, food, music crafts, games and most importantly, animals looking for their forever homes! Go and support the cause and adopt a pet if you can. Bobbi and the Strays’ Annual Halloween Masquerade Ball
Time: 7:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Russo’s on the Bay in Queens will be hosting the annual Halloween Masquerade Ball for Bobbi and the Strays. Come and dance the night away with live DJs and a full white glove dinner including unlimited beer, wine and soda. Now we’ve got your attention, right?! Tickets are $100 per person and all proceeds will be donated to the wonderful organization of Bobbi and the Strays.
