The 84th Academy Awards: Choc Full of Doggies

February 27, 2012

Did you watch The 84th Academy Awards last night? We did! Admittedly, we were most excited to see Uggie – The Artist’s furriest star — in his bow tie again, looking as dapper as he did for The Golden Globes. Of course, we were happy to see him on stage again when his movie won Best Picture! He also received a “thank you” from Director, Michel Hazanavicius, during his acceptance speech for Best Director. Well deserved, we think!

Anyway, though Uggie has been getting most of the limelight we can’t forget the other dogs making appearances on the big screen who are equally as cute and well-behaved. Here are all of the notable pooches in movies that were nominated and/or won an Oscar last night (dog walker nyc).

Cosmo from Beginners

Blackie from Hugo

Snowy from Tintin

Uggie from The Artist

Rowlf from The Muppets

Stars, all of them!  Uggie and Cosmo even had a little Oscar Buzz shoot for The Hollywood Reporter. Watch the adorable behind-the-scenes footage:

And in case you didn’t pay attention to the Best Picture nominations/winner, we’re also happy to help you here but with a furrier twist. Courtesy of Nextmovie.com, check out the winner and the nominees for Best Picture recast with dogs:

It seems dogs are becoming an integral part of the Academy Awards and we approve.
