Good news for everyone that reads this blog and peruses the internet in search of cute baby puppies to fawn over. This can actually improve your focus and concentration! Who knew? According to Forbes, a paper published by University of Hiroshima researchers in Japan suggests exactly this.

Previously, researchers had found that while playing a game of Operation, people who looked at cute animal pictures performed better. This earlier study led researchers to think that staring at cute things may make people more cautious. They hypothesized this was due to a built in response which makes sure humans handle babies with care.

The newer study built upon this earlier one to take another look at the findings. Researchers took three approaches. In one, participants play a Japanese game like Operation, in the second they performed visual searches with number matrixes and in the last, they were tested for focus.(dog walking services nyc)

As it turned out, everyone who looked at cute baby animals did better than those who didn’t. They even did better than those who looked at adult animals. Overall researchers conclude that, “[c]ute features not only make objects more user friendly and approachable, but also induce careful behavioral tendencies in the users, which is beneficial in specific situations, such as driving and office work.”

We will continue to scour the web for cute puppies!
