Therapy Dogs

If you weren’t ready to get into the holiday spirit yet, just wait. You will be after you read about “The Nutcracker” being performed in the Chicago area. Did we mention the actors are dogs? The PAWSitive Therapy Troupe, run by Becky Jankowski, is an organization of therapy dogs that work with wounded veterans, terminally ill children and people with disabilities, to name a few. These well-trained pooches have also have been putting on “The Nutcracker” since 2000.(dog walking services nyc)

Now 29 dogs star in the Tchaikovsky ballet and don elaborate costumes for the show. They are all trained using positive reinforcement and clickers and they have amazed audience members since the beginning.

This year, a pug named Lily will play Clara, Sam, a golden retriever will play the Mouse King, Bailey, a Shih Tzu, will be the Nutcracker Prince and Gracie, the sheltie, will act as the Sugar Plum Fairy.
The show is always well-received and two showings are already sold out this year. Watch some scenes below to see how adorable this production is.
