May 31, 2012

Have any of you been happened upon a giant Cane Corso while strolling through Prospect Park in Brooklyn? Well, as weird as that sounds, for the last few years that was totally possible. “Ghost Dog,” as he’s been called, has been spotted many times and he even played with other dogs on occasion but would run away from humans.

Recently, Sean Casey of Sean Casey Animal Rescue, noticed that Ghost Dog was seemingly less fearful of humans and that he was walking with a limp. These changes worried Casey and compelled him to catch Ghost Dog. With help, Casey set up a trap at the Vanderbilt Playground and when Ghost Dog came to eat the food, Casey and his team were able to catch him (nyc dog walker).

They headed straight to the vet and it turned out that Ghost Dog had an injured knee, bone ailment and Lyme disease. Now he is getting treated and is starting training. Casey will work to find him a perfect home with people that understand his history.
