It’s almost here! On June 22, the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma, California will hold the 24th Annual World’s Ugliest Dog Contest. A panel of judges will gather to decide which dog is so ugly it deserves the blue ribbon, a badge of ugly honor a pup can carry with him for the rest of his life.

According to The Salt Lake Tribune, Vicki DeArmon, the producer of the whole event has a particular type of ugly she looks for. “What we want is dogs who are naturally ugly…dogs who are so homely they’re cute.”
Well, the pups up for the ribbon certainly are that, and you can weigh in and vote online to award your own ugliest dog title. This does not determine the winner, but it’s a fun way to get involved. The actual winner will receive $1000 in prize money, a year’s supply of dog treats, a pampering session with limo ride and more, not to mention worldwide fame!
