Cinnamon Bun Bites

Biscuit

– 2 cups (500 mL) whole wheat flour
– 1 tsp. (5 mL) baking powder
– 1/4 tsp. (2 mL) salt
– 1/2 cup (125 mL) water or milk
– 1/4 cup (60 mL) canola oil
– 1 large egg
– 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) honey
– 1 tsp. (5 mL) cinnamon
– 1/4 cup (60 mL) finely chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Cream cheese drizzle (optional):

– 1/4 cup (60 mL) light cream cheese
– 1-2 Tbsp. (15-30 mL) milk or water

Directions:
1. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
2. Combine water, oil and egg in a separate small bowl. Then add to dry ingredients and stir until you have dough.
3. Flour a surface then roll out the dough into a rectangle (about 8×14 inches in size).
4. If you’re using cinnamon, nuts and honey, sprinkle these on the dough.
5. Start on the long edge of the dough and roll up (jelly-role style). Seal the edges by pinching them.
6. Cut half-inch thick pieces and place on cookie sheet with nonstick spray.
7. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes then let buns completely cool.
8. Spread on cream cheese topping.
You’re done! Now feed to your drooling pooch.
